Before giving your credit card, this is one Terms of Service you should read in its entirety. The simple interface of the app doesnt explain the finer details, the company keeps 30% of everything collected (now 40%!) and may take collection activity against you if unable to charge your credit card. You are risking at least $5 per workout to gain at most $0.50. If that motivates you, great, but its a poor deal with a lot of fine print. In addition:
-May impose 18% annualized interest on funds not received.
-Binding arbitration
-Only way to discover "the house always wins" is to wade through the TOS - you also have to click on "Rewards Terms" to find this information. It isnt disclosed anywhere else on the site, just that you get a portion of those who didnt make their goal - NOT that the company keeps 40% of that first.
-You can be liable for collection costs and Attorneys fees.
Those important points aside, this would be a great app by a non profit institution like a wellness society (AHA, ACS, hospital, health plan, etc) but your deposits are added to an individual account, and either repaid to you or donated to the charity if you fail. Yes, it could be considered win win but the current system youre essentially donating to a for profit organization - is that motivating? Even better, what if the funds for not meeting your goal go to an organization you DESPISE - Ill let you use your imagination here.
In short, this app could be useful but this company is shady in so many ways. Beware.
